In general, the Office of the Associate Provost for Teaching and Technology provides the following support services for UF colleges, departments and units:
Market Research/ Proposal Development
The Office of the Associate Provost for Teaching and Technology can assist faculty in developing a customized market assessment for non traditional programs. The market assessment includes a comprehensive analysis of the supply and demand patterns of students seeking distance learning opportunities including undergraduate, graduate and (noncredit) or executive level courses /programs. The comprehensive market analysis will provide direct insight into market competition and specific data with regard to potential number of prospective students / enrollments the academic department can expect for a potential distance learning course / program. TNT staff can assist faculty in research design aimed at exploring the competitive advantage of the University of Florida in the higher education non traditional marketplace.
TNT can assist faculty in utilizing the data from the completed market analysis for the development of a business plan and a program proposal for review by the academic department, the college Dean's office and the Office of the Provost. Proposals include: information on the identified need/ demand, how the program will contribute to the overall mission of the University and a budget that demonstrates how and when the program will become self supporting.
